What is IP69k?

IP69K is the highest level of protection against the ingress of dust and water, where 6 stands for complete dust protection and 9K indicates protection against high temperature, high-pressure water. 

WHAT ARE IP RATINGS?

IP-classificatie: “IP” staat voor “Ingress Protection”. Er zijn verschillende classificaties te onderscheiden. Belangrijk om op te merken is dat IP69K niet hoger in classificatie is dan ip67 of IP68. Het feit dat IP69K een hoger getal heeft, impliceert niet automatisch dat de bescherming beter is dan bij IP68. In werkelijkheid zijn IP68 en IP69K gebaseerd op verschillende testmethoden.

The IP value indicates whether a device is resistant to the intrusion of water, objects, dust, and mechanical stress. This classification is important when equipment is cleaned with high-pressure cleaning and/or at high temperatures.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IP69K AND IP69

Both IP69 and IP69K indicate that a product is resistant to high-temperature, high-pressure jet cleaning. However, the IP69K classification offers a higher level of protection and has a specific test procedure associated with the automotive industry and other applications where equipment is exposed to extremely demanding cleaning processes.
