What is reflective tape?

To be noticed in the dark, all kinds of lights are used to improve the road safety of vehicles. To make a vehicle stand out even more in the dark, there are Reflectors developed. Reflectors do not emit light themselves, but reflect the light that is caught. This makes it seem as if it is ordinary LED lighting. In addition to the well-known triangular reflector, reflective tape has also been developed. The word says it all, but reflection tape is tape that reflects when it catches light. Reflective tape is often used in the truck and trailer sector. In fact, the use of the tape is compulsory on every truck over 7.5 tonnes (category N2 + N3 vehicles). Also, the use of the tape is compulsory on every trailer weighing more than 3.5 tonnes (category O3 + O4 trailers). The reason for this is that trucks and trailers cannot be seen properly in the dark and in bad weather. By using reflective tape they stand out more and accidents are prevented. Road safety is therefore improved.
