RFT lens technology is the mirror reflector that can be found in some LED work lights from TRALERT®. This lens technology is part of the secondary optical elements that provide a different (improved) light image. Other optical elements of a worklight are reflectors, total internal reflection (TIR) optics and diffusers. You can find different secondary optical elements per type of lighting. You can choose lights purely on the basis of your requirements for the desired light image. Secondary optical elements allow you to capture additional light, increase light intensity or adjust the target surface. This includes blurring or sharpening the light beam. You can also use the lens or glass to change the colour uniformity.

Reflect facing technology lens, how does it work?

With an RFT lens, an indirect light image is used in the worklight to illuminate your work area evenly. The horizontal arrangement of the LEDs and the light image through the mirror reflector create an evenly distributed light beam without scattered light. This even distribution can only be achieved by a lens with a reflector. We have described the difference between a mirror-reflecting lens and a direct lens in the blog: "Directe lens vs indirecte lens, welk effect heeft dit voor uw werkverlichting.”

Where is RFT lens technology most commonly found?

You will find the RFT lens primarily in wide-angle worklights. These lamps are also referred to in the jargon as led side marker lights called. The function of these lamps is to illuminate work areas widthwise. This should preferably be done without any additional bright spots, in order to come as close as possible to a daylight experience. To illustrate, this is different from work lamps that are equipped with a spot beam, for example. These are intended to additionally illuminate one particular point. Hence the name "spot", directly translated "point". Places where you will not find the RFT lens are rear lights or marker lights. The reason for this is the light function. With marker lights, it is logically a question of being 'seen'. This is in contrast to the function of work lights, where it is mainly about radiating. This is why different lens techniques are used to provide the best possible lighting for your working environment.

In short:
